Any new shows or movies you've gotten into recently? Any new fandoms?

I watched the She-ra reboot last month, I'm almost done with The Dragon Prince and I'll move to Hilda next.
Into the Spiderverse was great!

I am on like hour 20 of watching road rage and driving fail videos.

Ooooohhhh, I love watching the Russian midwinter driving ones, for some reason.

Oh man, I'm addicted to those. They're actually quite useful, there's nothing that points out how dangerous left turns and driving too fast in wet conditions are than lots of footage showing you exactly how it can go wrong. It's like getting firsthand experience without having to deal with raised insurance rates!

I'm halfway through Impulse and it's... good? I just hope it explains a lot of things before it finishes though, because right now I just have a fuckton of questions.

The Good Place. Started it a few nights ago and am on s2e10 now. It's taking me forever to get through this episode though because it's extra heavy on the cringe humour and second hand embarrassment.

That's honestly why I gave up on that show a few episodes in. I just couldn't.

Huh. Usually that kind of thing bothers me but that's one of my favorite shows and I honestly can't think of a single example of it from the show. Weird.

Just started watching Call the Midwife. It is really well done. I didn't think i would like it, but I'm really enjoying it.

That show soothes me.

I started watching Sex Education because I heard Gillian Anderson was in it, and I ended up watching the whole thing in two days. It was really good. I don't quite know how to describe it, though.

It was funny, but I wouldn't call it a comedy, because there was a lot of pathos in there too. It's vulgar but in a way that's kind of sweet and refreshing. And all the characters are flawed, but I ended up liking almost all of them. The actors were all really good - especially Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson. And I loved the visual style of it - especially the weird, deliberate ambiguity of it being British but extremely Americanized, and set in the present but extremely 80s influenced.

In case anyone else here likes to watch TV with their parent(s): probably don't watch this with your parents, unless you are comfortable watching extremely graphic sexual content with your folks.

I just saw Into the Spider-Verse and I think my eyes orgasmed.

I felt like a little kid watching Spider-Verse last weekend - every other minute I was like, "Whoa, look at that! Whoa, that looked so cool! WHOA!!!" :D

Still powering through Law & Order:SVU and man, it never stops making me uncomfortable when the 'team' decides someone has done something, and they kind of tell the story to each other as if that's how it really happened, and then they go yell in someone's face to *force* them to say 'yes, i did it!'

Very creepy and abusive, even if they do manage to find the actual guilty person most of the time.

I know right?

Part of the reason it makes me angry so often.

The show seems to think "because the perps are extra bad , we are justified in doing whatever we want"

Curious what you think - I was a little iffy about it based on the subject matter, but I thought she pulled it off really well.

I recently discovered her and I love her, like I've watched her ramble on about movies/books/things I have never seen and hold no interest in but she makes it so damn entertaining.

Gonna be watching her new vid soon.

I just got through S1 of The Orville. It's not AMAZING but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I like it a lot! I just caught up with the new episodes of season 2. The only thing I *don't* love is that Seth McFarlane's character is pretty whiny and annoying in these last few episodes. But there's a lot to like as well, so hopefully it will be solved by character development.

The Masked Singer. It's such a ridiculous potato chip of a show and the judges are just as ridiculous with their guesses as to who the singers are (Diana Ross? Beyoncé? Lmfao NO, they've both got day jobs). But it's a fun show and a good distraction and I enjoy it, so.

I tried watching that, but I couldn't get past the show's fundamental problem of being on opposite Nova.
