I watched the She-ra reboot last month, I'm almost done with The Dragon Prince and I'll move to Hilda next.
Into the Spiderverse was great!

I'm halfway through Impulse and it's... good? I just hope it explains a lot of things before it finishes though, because right now I just have a fuckton of questions.

The Good Place. Started it a few nights ago and am on s2e10 now. It's taking me forever to get through this episode though because it's extra heavy on the cringe humour and second hand embarrassment.

I started watching Sex Education because I heard Gillian Anderson was in it, and I ended up watching the whole thing in two days. It was really good. I don't quite know how to describe it, though.

It was funny, but I wouldn't call it a comedy, because there was a lot of pathos in there too. It's vulgar but in a way that's kind of sweet and refreshing. And all the characters are flawed, but I ended up liking almost all of them. The actors were all really good - especially Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson. And I loved the visual style of it - especially the weird, deliberate ambiguity of it being British but extremely Americanized, and set in the present but extremely 80s influenced.

In case anyone else here likes to watch TV with their parent(s): probably don't watch this with your parents, unless you are comfortable watching extremely graphic sexual content with your folks.

Still powering through Law & Order:SVU and man, it never stops making me uncomfortable when the 'team' decides someone has done something, and they kind of tell the story to each other as if that's how it really happened, and then they go yell in someone's face to *force* them to say 'yes, i did it!'

Very creepy and abusive, even if they do manage to find the actual guilty person most of the time.

The Masked Singer. It's such a ridiculous potato chip of a show and the judges are just as ridiculous with their guesses as to who the singers are (Diana Ross? Beyoncé? Lmfao NO, they've both got day jobs). But it's a fun show and a good distraction and I enjoy it, so.

Bumble BFF

(Anonymous) 2019-01-20 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm trying to find more friends I can just drop everything and go out to lunch with. I heard about Bumble BFF. Has anyone hear used it?

One concern I have is that I'm very much an introvert. I'm looking for friends to get sushi with more than go to a loud club with, and from what I've read, it may be geared more towards the latter. Is there any truth to that? If so, it probably isn't the right site for me.

Re: Bumble BFF

(Anonymous) 2019-01-20 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I had to google it because I've never heard of Bumble at all (it sounds so cute though. bumble~), but I can't see this working for someone like me as a fellow introvert.

I get anxious going somewhere even if I'm meeting someone I know well, I don't think I could just go meet a stranger.

I gave up on online dating because as soon as we started chatting more and he wanted to meet, I'd be a horrible person and ghost them because I couldn't stand the thought of actually going out and being near a person I didn't already know. :/

What's a nice word for this sort of person?

(Anonymous) 2019-01-20 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone who isn't bad, they're just not very deep or invested in the world around them. Their only hobbies are watching The Cooking Channel and sports, they have no real interest in any current events unless it directly impacts them, they just seem to see life as it is: The sun goes up, they go to work, they come home, they go to bed.

Which sounds insulting, but I don't mean that as a bad thing, necessarily. I actually think a lot of people are like that. That's why I want a nicer word.

I mean, without getting all SJW, to be honest, privileged? I mean, you have to be in a very comfortable state of life (and that's not a bad thing) to exist like this.
