188 - I didn't hate it, but Brokeback is overrated like crazy. I recall all the fangirls were butthurt Crash won Best Picture over BB, and all I could think was that neither of them deserved it.

I also disagree it's the gay thing why it's so popular, but the pretty male thing. If the movie revolved around lesbians, or old fat guys, you can bet there would be less fangirl fervor over it.

Yeah, except neither Heath Ledger nor Jake oh fuck it I can't spell his last name are very attractive AT ALL.

I agree with that too. I think Jake has his moments, but I didn't think Heath was that hot at all.

Jake Gyllenhaal (THERE. I SPELLED IT RIGHT) looks like a cross between Frogger and Zac Efron, and Heath Ledger is ok I guess, but he's generic and I'm not really too into blond guys.

I enjoyed the movie, but I couldn't help but think how Heath Ledger in that film looked like someone I go to school with.

I... couldn't look at either of them again without laughing...

Agreed.

I don't get what women, or some of my fellow gay guys, see in them. I don't get the whole twink craze in the gay community, myself. I prefer beef.

I agree that although I didn't hate it, I don't ever feel the need to see it again. But I think what made it such a big deal was that two mainstream, A-list, famous, and straight actors did the film. It wasn't a tiny film with no-names, it was two big stars saying that they were confident enough in themselves and the message to do a risky film. So even though I didn't enjoy the movie, I do respect it.
