I get that it's meant to be cringey, but it was supposed to be an emotionally evocative kind of cringey - not an "oh my god my ears are bleeding someone please find the mute button before my head explodes" cringey, which only serves to take you out of the scene and isn't helpful at all.

188 - I didn't hate it, but Brokeback is overrated like crazy. I recall all the fangirls were butthurt Crash won Best Picture over BB, and all I could think was that neither of them deserved it.

I also disagree it's the gay thing why it's so popular, but the pretty male thing. If the movie revolved around lesbians, or old fat guys, you can bet there would be less fangirl fervor over it.
