Presenting...Tales from Net: The Initiation of SnapesRose
Severus Snape is a spider. His totem creature is the ever wary spider. SnapesRose was ready for the initiation ceremony. Lady Darkness had helped her write the vows and choose SnapesRose's new name, the one which she would be called for the rest of her time her on Net and by Snape when she ascended to the Astral Plane to be with him forever.
The final test, the presentation to Severus Snape's totem animal and de facto representative was to take place today. SnapesRose smoothed her wedding dress and faced the altar, stifling her shivers of nervous excitement.
"Recite your vows," Narcissam said.
"Severus. I will always treasure you, listen for you, and remain faithful to you, though we are separated by the vast distances imposed by space and time. I don this Slytherin necklace to symbolize this commitment, to let all earthly men and women know that I am yours and no one else's.
"I shall build you a shrine, and read the Books in which you are written. I shall never waver in my devotion, and if I do, I shall punish myself as I deserve.
"My undying love is yours, forever."
Narcissam and Lady Darkness bowed their heads respectfully before beckoning SnapesRose to the altar. A cage containing a large tarantula sat on top. SnapesRose put her hands on the cold marble surface, palms up. Wordlessly, Narcissam opened the cage door. The spider, sensing its freedom, scuttled out and began to explore, moving rapidly towards where SnapesRose held her hands. SnapesRose fought the urge to run, watching with fear while the spider clambered over her fingers and crawled up her arm. Its tiny footsteps raised goosebumps on her skin, causing not entirely unpleasant sensations to course through her body.
The spider reached her neck and rested. They let it stand on her for a full fifteen minutes, and when it didn't bite or do anything untoward, Narcissam pronounced the ceremony complete.
"Snape has accepted you. You are now his wedded wife. Now go, and build your shrine."

I still want to read the OP's version, where it's not Net based but some sort of magic, fantasy realm (okay, I suppose that actually does describe the internet too but...I'm think Hobbity-type fantasy realm with epic Harmonian sea battles and blood sacrifices to Snape).

Hermia kissed the pendant hanging around her neck. It depicted the goddess Hermione, her namesake. But Hermia feel very much like the brave and powerful goddess right now. She was terrified. Under her breath, Hermia recited The Trio’s Prayer to give her strength and slipped out of the shadows, onto the main road.
It was still very dark where she stood, but anyone peering into the darkness, searching for movement, would be able to detect her. There were plenty of people walking the streets that night who would be looking for her.
Hermia clutched the bundle of papers in her robes, trying to calm her nerves as she sped down the cobbled street. If any of Clairians caught her with these papers and saw what they contained… well she wouldn’t think about that. It was too horrible.
The Fandom Wank Resistance, or FW as it was known on the street, was located just a few streets from where Hermia had been staying. She needed to get these papers to them so they could be published in the FW newspaper. The papers concerned some very high ranking Clairians (Cassandra Claire’s dreaded minions) and the public needed to know. Hermia worked as a secretary at their headquarters and she had access to a lot of information that could destroy Cassandra Claire’s reputation. Her faction had already suffered great losses at the battle of Laptopgate and this piece of information could pry her grasp off the nation.
Hermia had reached the door of the inn where FW was currently hiding without being seen. She breathed a sigh of relief and tapped on the door. An eye appeared in the peephole and asked for the password.
“Y so srs, Smeyer?” Hermia whispered. The door swung open.
