Oh hey, this was my comment :)
I think I once observed that of the 40 top ROTG fics on AO3, there were at least five using this idea. And no, they weren't all by the same person.

I want to make a joke about the state of education these days if they're all American, but it wouldn't be a joke.

Don't shame the writers for their untagged GoT fusions, anon.

I'm torn between "people write fic about that film?" and "anon, you're taking it a little too seriously".

It was a really big fandom for a while

It's even having a small renaissance due to talks of a possible TV series by the author.

If making a secret is taking things too seriously, this community is all guilty. But also, why are you here, on a community where people have strong fandom opinions? Are any of them "serious"?

Not all secrets are pedantic. Trying to inject scientific realism into a movie about magical holiday spirits is a little over the top even by our standards.

Is he okay passing through thee warm equator when travelling between hemispheres? Why not pick a pole and stay there? It stays cold at the pokes year-round.

I figure he goes up and over, going high enough in the atmosphere that it stays cold.

I just explained to my nephew how it will be cold in the Southern Hemisphere in July and his mind was blown, so sadly it seems this is not as commonly known as it should be. Even people who are quite aware we live on a globe can engage in Northern Hemisphere chauvinism, lol.
