Yup. I'd fallen out of love with Potter. But I've been rereading some fics lately, and I remember why I loved the universe. But there are fic authors who just did a much better job than JK on a lot of things.

There are so many fandoms where I like the fandom more than the canon. Some, the canon sketches out this amazing world and doesn't explore it; some, the canon doesn't explore it the way I'd prefer; some, the canon is just too sexist or something and I can't enjoy myself. But as much as I complain about fandom, I do on the whole love it.
