Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

I try to be accepting of the fact that people have different opinions, likes, and kinks. But I have a hard time with fics that make minor character/adult character pairings or other rape situations out to be romantic and not rape when there isn't an author's note acknowledging that they actually know that in real life this is terrible. Because too many people actually believe in real life those things aren't rape and are romantic. So it makes me wonder if the author actually knows or if they do believe what they are writing if they don't make it clear that they don't.

Wow lol I hate those author's notes, because it's like, duh rape is bad? Just the fact that you feel the need to acknowledge it is very wtf to me, and I'm not reading my PWP for a lesson in ethics.

+1. Though I do see where ayrt is coming from, I don't think requiring people to self-flaggelate really helps.

I'm not into the self-deprecation thing, sorry. I'm wildly into a pairing with a big age gap, the younger one being slightly underage even, but like... it should go without saying that I don't condone it in real life. It's not my fault that there's some real-life sickos out there. It's simply not my problem.
