I try to be accepting of the fact that people have different opinions, likes, and kinks. But I have a hard time with fics that make minor character/adult character pairings or other rape situations out to be romantic and not rape when there isn't an author's note acknowledging that they actually know that in real life this is terrible. Because too many people actually believe in real life those things aren't rape and are romantic. So it makes me wonder if the author actually knows or if they do believe what they are writing if they don't make it clear that they don't.

I like characters more when they in canon are cat people. I don't feel that way when the characters like dogs. I like dogs irl I just think it's cuter to see characters liking cats.

A few friends have been hounding me to watch 'You.' I feel so left out because I hated it. Like I've watched some stuff that has been "meh" but tolerable background noise while I did something else, but this thing grated on me like nothing else. I'm so disappointed and I feel like I'm missing something.

I've never been convinced that a robot/android character is really sentient. I hate "androids have souls/can feel love" plots. You can keep your humanoid toasters, thanks.

Russian Yuri is an obnoxious violent little brat and I hope he gets seriously injured in the inevitable next season. I never cared about him as a rival for Japanese Yuri nor gave a shit about his evolution as a skater because he went from "prodigy with a bad attitude" to "even better prodigy with a bad attitude".

I'm not sure if I like some of my ships and fandoms because I truly like them or I coaxed myself into liking them because there's so much fic written for them.

I want to play KH3 but I feel like I'd be completely lost and feel obligated to replay the first two plus play all the side games first. (I played KH2 the day it came out, but haven't touched the series since.) I loved the series back in the day and want to get back into it, but feels like I have to do "homework" before I have the right to play the next one.

A cute animal companion can make or break a story. If they are shitty, ugly, and obnoxious, I will abandon that shit so quick. If they are adorable, I will watch it no matter how awful the plot is. Why, yes, I am an adult.

I hate it when in a Harry Potter fic, everyone already hated Peter before he went evil. Like, somehow Lily was suspicious of him, the other Marauders just tolerated him, and everyone else hated him. There is just no basis for that at all. He was well liked to the same extent as the other Marauders. No one suspected a thing.

I'm actually really happy that the overall reaction to KH3 has been an overwhelming "it's... ok" with a heavy dose of "what the fuck is even happening." It's just been too long. And so few people actually went through that entire pantheon of games. It was destined to disappoint.

I will defend bad writing if the person I'm disagreeing with is calling it bad for the wrong reasons. For example, when something that shouldn't happen in canon happens anyway because of bad writing, people will stubbornly argue that no, it didn't happen, because it couldn't have.

Honey child, if it was there on the screen, it happened. You did not hallucinate. The fallibility of the human writer cares not for your adherence to the laws of canon. It was bad writing you're allowed to hate, but you can't just say it didn't happen and get mad at the fandom for writing in compliance with it.

I cannot decide if I find Bill Skarsgård attractive. Like, I definitely see why other people might find him attractive. But it's like one of those visual scenes in media of a genius solving something, where all the clues are laid out, but just before they come together, it stops. All the pieces are there, but my brain can't quite seem to combine them into a coherent solution.

I still don't get why TLJ was lauded as such a feminist movie when what that movie gave us was:

- A female main character with potential getting turned into a canon Sue who gets her character development sacrificed for "she's just that great" handwaving and who loses a considerable amount of braincells just because she saw the debatably attractive bad boy shirtless

- An incompetent female commander who prefers to go for cheap "boys will be boys amIright" quips in favour of actually doing her job properly

-A female led Resistance that only barely survived because the bad guys got dumbed down so much it's a wonder they're even still breathing on their own

-A downright ridiculous Mary Poppins scene for one of the most iconic female characters (and fridging her for most of the movie)

-Randomly killing off a cool evil female character with potential because "BET YOU DIDN'T EXPECT THAT LOL!"

- A new female character who is painfully naive, who thinks releasing animals into the wild and ramming her one twu wuv out of the air is more important than saving her comrades and who gets a shitty superfluous romance tacked on (and who just kisses people without consent and yeah, that may be petty but you can bet people would not have been as cool with that scene if the genders had been reversed). It's also kind of smells like she only got that "romance subplot" to get the black guy away from the white female lead but ymmv on that.

So yeah, idk but I can't see a lot of feminism in all that.
