If it makes you feel any better, it's pretty likely he'll do permanent damage to his joints by pushing himself too hard, and have to retire before he hits 25.

It's hilarious when people treat Yuri On Ice with realism when the skating statistics are impossible for the best IRL skaters to achieve and oh homophobia is non-existent. Russian Yuri's joints will be just fine, because it's a feel-good anime and he's not a real person.

Um, on your first point - people WERE saying Yuri's score was unrealistic. Until real life Yuzuru Hanyu beat that score. No, the show did mor address homophobia, really could not have been addressed in a warm hearted 12 episode ice skating anime. But I absolutely believe the series would take injury. That really doesn't seem too dark or anything.
