Eh, I grew up in the ice skating arena with some kids that were definitely aiming for Olympic goals, and honestly Russian Yuri is more what you found in that group than either Japanese Yuri or even Victor. There's enormous pressure to perform and be perfect, so kids do kind of often get warped into snobby little assholes whose only outlet is violent outbursts. It sucks. Especially because if they do get injured and it costs them their career, it ruins their entire lives. And often, their families will make it infinitely worse. It's just sad.
