Re: Gamers: What was/is your brick wall boss?

This is similar, but I messed up my skills in the first Xenoblade and didn't realize I had to change the branches once mastered. So now I'm catching up waaaay too late in the game and am doing an assload of battles to learn the skills so I can tie them to the other members for the bonuses. Add this to the fact that I pretty much suck at any game unless I'm overpowered. Basically, every boss is a brick wall at the moment. No matter how quick/effective I am with support/casting/abilities, I eventually get wiped out.

I hate it because I really want to finish the game. I've even looked up strategies and best parties to use but I'm stuck at Agni Ratha. I'm going into my third year with this game; most beat it within three weeks. Okay, so I don't play every day. That's because I'm so goddamn bored with the grinding. I want to complete the game so badly but I just suck.

Ouch, that sucks. :( Would it be viable to just start over fresh or is this really late-game? If it makes you feel better, when I first played Tales of Symphonia I didn't figure out how to switch in new techniques until about a third of the way in, so I was using baby early-game attacks for way too long. My brother found it hilarious.

I'm in the same position of "I just want to progress." Like I don't even care about the gratification of actually beating the boss now, the game is so well-designed and I'm enjoying it so much and I want to see the rest of it.

Haha, right? Exactly. You're completely invested at this point and even if it doesn't go as 100% expected, there needs to be a pay-off.

Now that I think about it, Xenosaga 2 also had its share of places to get stuck. Fortunately, I had somehow beaten the game before, so on my last runthrough, I gave up ¾ of the way and just decided to watch the rest on Youtube (it's very cut-scene heavy).

Wouldn't feel right doing that for Xenoblade, though. And to answer your question, I think it might be the same result whether I start over or continue. I'd still be investing lots of time doing multiple things, including quests, conversations, and increasing affinity levels between folks.
