I hate that Dungeon Meshi is getting popular because everyone gets the characterization wrong and only cares about ships. Farcille is especially bad because it's mostly ~uwu pure lesbians~ bullshit. This isn't even an anime yet aaaaaaa

Does Dungeon Meshi have more of a plot than "group of people repeatedly has to cook different things, but IN A DUNGEON"? Because that's all the recs for it make it sound like and frankly that sounds like a good reason not to read it because it sounds so repetitive and gimmicky. And most of the fans are mostly in it for Farcille, which I also know nothing about except "uwu pure lesbians". Is their dynamic actually more interesting than that? Are they morally gray? I love me some morally gray femslash.

Yeah, the "group of people repeatedly has to cook different things, but IN A DUNGEON" is backdrop for some political intrigue and an attempt revive a dead party member. Overall, it's fairly lighthearted, with occasional dark elements, and the characters really make the manga shine.

And yeah, there's definitely grey potential in their (non-canon) dynamic too because

Marcille tried to revive Farlin but botched it so Farlin's a dragon chimera now.
