You don't consider that mob justice? Not everyone thinks he's a skeev, he's still got an enormous fanclub and is a big name voice actor. Unless you follow anime news, the average anime watcher maybe hasn't even heard of this scandal.

Then... presumably he'll start getting roles again?

I have to be honest, anon, it kind of sounds like your problem isn't "mob justice", your problem is just that you like him and want him to keep getting roles.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I clearly stated I don't like him. I have very personal reasons for not liking him, which I outright stated in my first post. Sorry that you only see this as a matter of "either Vic should burn in hell or you're his fan".

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
You're defending him and saying he's owed a job, hard to see how you hate him when you're doing that and anyone going, "But he's not owed roles or anything" is called "YOU JUST WANT MOB JUSTICE!"

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Because I'm a rational person who supports rational justice. When you get a little older, maybe you'll understand, too.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'm nearly thirty.

I just understand, sweetie, that no one is owed voice roles just because a cult he established creams themselves over him when a majority of people go "UGH VIC" and most other VAs hate him and he's absolute trash and creeps on teenaged girls. Sorry that's so hard for your Vic-dick-sucking-ass to get.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
You are nearly thirty? You have got to be shitting me. The "Vic-dick-sucking-ass" to a gay person is absolutely boggling me. Are you actually nearly thirty? Wow.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. I'm sorry you can't comprehend that with your miniscule brain since it's too busy defending a nearly-sixty-year-old manchild.

Also, sweetheart, honey, dearest.

I'm a goddamn lesbian so don't even try pulling the "ur clearly a homophobe too" card when I can't tell which anon you are.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-09 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Lol bitch please. Using that kind of language against a gay person IS homophobic, I don't care what you claim your ass to be

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-09 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, but an ass as in a jerk. A shitty person. That kind of ass. I have no way of knowing who's gay or not because you're anon and there's twenty anons here, but go off, I guess. I'm calling you someone who's sucking his proverbial dick. You're an asshole who clearly likes him, and now you're playing the homophobia card because you saw a chance to discredit me as a person instead of what I'm saying.

Because you have no rebuttal to what I'm saying besides to discredit me as a homophobe because... I called you an ass who's sucking his proverbial dick. Just like I'd call a woman, just like I'd call a straight man, just like I'd call fucking everyone because I like my salt language.

Would you rather be an absolute walnut? A goddamn fuckwit? How about a complete shitwad? Pick your poison, it's all the fucking same.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I guess if you say that your position is the only rational one, you must be right

Because you're rational so you obviously wouldn't say it if it wasn't rational

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
It isn't, but if you're the anon above I'm not surprised you'd react that way, considering you seem to be unable to comprehend why someone might defend another human even if they don't like them.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
It's not that you defended him; it's that your defense of him focused primarily on his ability to work on projects, and on the fact that he has a large fan club and that a lot of people like his work, as a reason why it was unfair that people were yelling at him for allegedly being skeevy. I apologize if that was an incorrect connection, but it's hard to figure out how else those things are relevant.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
This. This is why I'm considering you a fan. Because your defense of him is "people like him and he shouldn't lose his job." Actions have consequences.

DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
But those actions have no basis in reality other than rumors.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
So is the issue that INTERNET MOB JUSTICE IS WRONG!!!! or is the issue that the evidence in this specific instance is not compelling enough

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
They are literally connected. The problem with internet justice is that they can misconstrue "evidence" resulting in ruined lives.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
This would be a lot more compelling of an argument if it weren't for the fact that people make the exact same arguments about MOB JUSTICE being bad in defense of Louis CK, who literally confessed

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Holy shit. You'd be that person in the photo of the Shipp/Smith lynching photo who is grinning and laughing.

Lynching someone is okay because sometimes the person getting lynched was guilty.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
And you're the person who's comparing getting yelled at on the internet to fucking lynching

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Yelling". Tell that to people who have had their lives ruined from harassment on the internet.

Your lack of empathy disgusts me.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Losing your livelihood and having your reputation destroyed isn't just getting yelled on the internet.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
It's also... not lynching.

I mean, yes, I would prefer everyone was reasonable and careful, and yes, some people take things too far. But I don't know what alternative you want from people or what you're really proposing. I don't think not caring or mentioning it when people do incredibly shitty and heinous things is a desirable or practical solution. And I think there are cases where, like, yelling about things to publicize problems and force a change is a useful and prudent thing to do.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
He can work retail. There are other jobs. When other professionals are corroborating this shit, which could tank their own careers, there's something there, dude.

No use, fighting. I expect the people in this thread are the same ones who get pissy when the ACLU defends some kind of right wing group.
