It's visually stunning, but yeah - none of the big cities in the movies made sense, because you have to have *so much infrastructure* to maintain something like that. Where is the food, the fuel, the water coming from? Where is the stuff coming from that they can't make? Where are all the roads that lead from everywhere to this huge city by a river that should be a hub, not a citadel in the wilderness?
