OP, I had a friend give me a couple boxes of manga (in Japanese, because I mostly refuse to read it in English) in 2010 and I'm STILL working on it. It wasn't like they were big boxes.

I also keep buying Bleach. Which I have been attempting to read since 2006. (Don't judge me, the first volume was hilarious.) I'm on volume 39. I own up to 45, I think. Some day I will read it. Haha. Ayashi no Ceres. Fushigi Yuugi. KareKano. Yu Yu Hakusho. Some day.

I HAVE, however, read the many, many volumes of doujinshi I bought.

Honestly, with Bleach you're probably better off stopping. Rarely have I seen a manga start off so good and then just crash and burn so spectacularly (and I'm not even talking about the ships. The narrative and characters just turned into a clusterfuck and it makes me sad because the early volumes were so fun and refreshing).

DA I feel the same way. Bleach had so much promise and the first couple of volumes were wonderful, but Kubo kept introducing more and more characters that I didn’t give a shit about, stopped developing my favorite characters, and threw the plot to the wind.

This is exactly how I feel, it felt like all the main characters (even Ichigo) kept being pushed more and more to the side in favor of whatever shiny new character design Kubo was into that week and the plot was replaced by a series of fight scenes with no emotional weight behind them.

At least the character design was nice, and Kubo is a talented artist

But still not worth the time past, idk, Hueco Mundo?
