I am thinking of replacing my computer. I don't know how to build one (I can switch a video card and power supply). I don't game a whole lot and when I do they are not heavily visual. Where do you buy your desktop computer?

It's a Dell. I'v had it for a while - six or eight years? Never updated to windows 10, HA. And it works really well, lets me watch stuff like Netflix, have two browsers and multiple tabs open, doesn't glitch or act weird. 3 Ghz CPU, external hard drive for my movies and stuff....

Dell may be middling, but i've never had any issues with them. They're what we use at my work, too, and they really just *work*.

Best Buy.
They can 'build' a computer for you, and in the stores nearby where I live they tend to be really helpful.

The best thing you can do is use a site like this one to compare different brands/systems.

You obviously don't need anything top of the line, the site can help you decide on what you need, and tell you what does what in the FAQs. (I'd start with finding your own computers stats/score and go from there)


The brands I tend to lean towards are Asus, and HP. I have a personal grudge against Acer, so don't buy from them. It's been like year since I've searched for anything and my sister did most of the work, but my hoarding ways means I have my sisters laptop box on hand, and I think it might be a good match/start on where to look for a high-end, not too fancy computer.

^ will let you know how well your computer should be able to process any given game. (I think it's the site I used?) It's also a good way to measure just how much processing speed you might need.

(I live in a small town in Canada btw, so Best Buy is like the only option we have aside from Wallmart for the most part where I live;;)

I don't think there's any actor I love in everything they play. But Amy Adams comes to mind as someone who is consistently excellent. I also really love Kiera Knightly in most things. And I guess this is a bit of a cliche, but Ryan Gosling rarely disappoints me.

I'm not saying the movies these people are in are always good, but their performances usually are.

I just applied for a job at my dream company

They are a small organization but do exactly what I want to be doing. This position is totally relevant to my experience, too, and it would definitely be a step up the career ladder without being a total crapshoot - by the job description, I really do fit almost all of it.

But I applied for a job with them last year, got an interview, the executive director seemed to really like me and showed me around the office and stuff and went into so much detail I really thought I had it. But then they went with another candidate. I know it's life, but I'm a little embarrassed to apply again knowing I was rejected once. And since it's a small organization, everyone there will probably know me. Hell, the person they hired in the position I originally applied for will probably be told I applied for his position once.

But still. I would love this job. Not getting my hopes up, but just trying to work out anxiety after hitting that send button on the application!
