I'm gonna be honest, OP would have my sympathy except for how she's taking out her misery on childfree people. Me and people like me get enough shit about not wanting kids, she can take her empty womb and choke on her shriveled, selfish heart and bullshit about biological imperatives.

The moment you take your bitterness at not having kids out on other people and telling them with a pat on the head that, no, really, they have nothing to complain about, you stop being sympathetic and instead become a bitter bitch who has no joy in her life and has wrapped up EVERYTHING in her identity in the fact she's not had a kid.

Making the secret isn't taking out her misery on others, though. She probably has to stifle her feelings irl. I didn't go read all the comments; I'm sure with the amount that this secret has, people are being nasty on both sides. If that's what you're referring to, then I can't really comment.

Childfree people take a lot of shit, yes, but so do childless people. We all fall outside of the norm and people think we're freaks.

Agreed. It's understandable to be disappointed when your life doesn't turn out the way you'd planned. What's not cool is when you start taking that disappointment out on other people and being nasty to them because their life DID go the way they wanted it to.

And, What's more, it's toxic and unhealthy to let your entire identity get wrapped up in this thing that didn't happen. Eventually you gotta make like Elsa and let it go and move on and focus on what you DO have in your life instead of what you don't.

Seriously. I didn't get to be a non-disabled person. I'm not gonna shame able-bodied people for being able-bodied. It sucks but life doesn't always turn out how you want.

I'm constantly called lazy, a faker, that I'm just wanting free money for nothing, that I should kill myself because I don't contribute, etc. Told to get a job anyway because it can't be that bad, I just don't want to work. Like. Dude. Dude. I am absolutely blamed for having my disability like it was in my control. Bootstraps mentality is a big thing.

If your disability isn't easily visible, then I see the parallel... people make assumptions that they shouldn't (and if it IS obvious then those people aren't just ignorant, they're straight up dicks. ...actually it sounds like they're dicks either way, esp coming from family). I walk with a limp on my best days. Like, a huge obvious one. On my best days. Many days I have to use a cane and I'm nearing the point of wheelchair, and I can't do a whole lot. I spend a lot of time miserable in bed and in pain.

My family definitely knew. I've wanted to get out and work and move out way sooner than I did tbh.

Like, the point is we don't have it figured out, but we sure as fuck don't take it the fuck out of random people, whining about our ~empty womb~, screaming about biological imperatives.
