I didn't get this at all from this secret?

It's not like they're going into other people's fics or discussions and trying to push their canon knowledge on them. They're annoyed that someone would come into THEIR clearly tagged fic and complain about it.

It sounds more like "uh this fic was marked with spoilers or plot events after season 3, why are you complaining to the author that you don't get what happened if you haven't watched season 3?"

I find it a reasonable sentiment.

Yeah, that's really not what they're saying at all.

I do think OP is misusing the term "fandom gatekeeper," so if someone were too lazy to read the whole secret, or to bad at reading to parse the actual meaning of the secret, then "stop enjoying things differently to me and read/watch all the material, CASUALS!!!!!" might be how they knee-jerk interpreted the secret. But it's not what OP said.

It's tricky, because, like, I do think the opinion would be gatekeeper-y if it was in almost any other context. But if it's specifically complaining about people coming into fic and making comments, it's hard to call it gate-keeping.
