Personally I am uneasily waiting for half the Tumblr BoRhap fandom to discover Brian My is not in fact a pure angel and turn on him hard. I'm not looking forward to it because I have the impression May tries hard to be a decent human, but he is seventy and was a rock star during a pretty wild era. Sooner or later some e is going to realize that is not recipe for Tumblr Purity.

I can't imaging thinking any rock star from that era is pure and flawless. I like May's music and think it's awesome he's both a rock star and a scientist.

Why would you stan any rockstar thinking they’re unproblematic? Like ever? Tbh with drug fueled orgies and underaged groupies I’m amazed #MeToo hasn’t caught up with the music scene and it’s no wonder Warped Tour shut down to get ahead of the game.

My issues with Brian May stem from his friendship with Patrick Moore and how no one acknowledged PM's immense bigotry and chauvinism, and I see Brian as doing a - well he was my friend so I'll ignore all these dodgy things he's said - thing.

Plus even though I agree with him about the wrongness of the Badger cull, the way he's gone about it sticks in my throat. If you've ever seen a farmer whose herd's been tested positive for TB, and when you've got government scientists saying it's the badgers fault, how can you blame them for wanted them eradicated?

Plus there's all the trying to tone down Freddie's flaming queerness in the published record, and it all starts making it very hard to like him.
