cw: spiders

I was watching an Attenborough doc. Learned huge tarantula like spiders live at the top of the himalayas and they can JUMP. Fun. For some I guess. Me if they, like, stay there.

Australia has some seriously freaky spiders;; Some harmful, some not- but like in the south, how you would shake a lounge chair to free it from black widows- you flush every toilet to make sure nothing creepy is hiding under the seat...;;

There are also these giant spiders in the Caribbean that just create giant webs above pathways. I remember visiting once, and not even noticing until the guide pointed them out;; They aren't harmful, and have no interest in humans, but they're the the size of your hand, build their webs just above head height. I'm not usually scared of spiders, but being so distracted by the foliage, I literally found out what it meant to be arachnophobic that day...;;

When I visited my relatives in Queensland and New South Wales last year from Scotland I was prepared to do all of that and then didn't see one spider inside the whole time. My cousin's house had spiders hanging in the veranda but I never really saw them moved so just sort of dealt with it. And she informed me they ate widows so it was better to have them.
I was like '................right. cool.'

That sounds....the stuff of nightmares yeah.
