Celebrity Comparisons

In the spirit of... secret number whatever that I am too lazy to check the number of, have you ever been told, "Hey, you look just like so-and-so!"

Was it a positive or negative thing for you?

I got told once here during a share-your-pics thread that I look like Mary-Louise Parker, and I am A-OK with that.

Almost always negative, because it's 100% white people going "hey, you look like that one celeb of your race that I know of!"

I look nothing like those people.

Forgot a few words. I meant to say almost always negative in person.

Fandomy people online tend to be either familiar with more celebrities or self aware enough to not to imply like, hey so all you people look the same

I was told I look like this one d-lister from a Hallmark Christmas Movie years ago and I still don't know how I feel about it.

I once said something along the lines of how there is something about Drew Barrymore kind of bugs me and somebody told me that I reminded them of her. So, that happened. Now, it's very possible that there's something I see in her that reminds me of something I don't like about myself, but wow.

I was once told, way back, when I had long blonde hair, that I looked like Daryl Hannah. I think it might have just been general coloring, but I took it as a compliment.

Not me, but someone told me old roommate she looked like Amy Schumer. She was not happy.

Not me, but my dad has a really strong resemblance to John Torode from Masterchef. A cashier pointed this out to him once, and my dad not knowing who he was, asked "Is he good-looking?" The lady sort of hesitated and went "I guess, if you're into that sort of thing, yeah."

Ahahaha, my apologies to your dad but that was hilarious.

My grandma (from my mom's side) mentions I look like a certain celebrity a lot, only shorter, rounder face, no makeup, and no fake nose. I don't see it, my mom doesn't either, but it's not like it's a harsh comparison since she just looks like the average celebrity. Nothing particularly positive or negative about it. It's just a thing my grandma mentions once every year or so.

I'm told I look like Taylor Swift a lot. I don't see it myself, but random strangers will stop me to say I look like her. One of my friends dads got really excited that 'the girl who looked like Taylor Swift' was coming over since he was such a fan of her....
Everyone who said it meant it as a complement, but I personally did not like her so I wasn't really sure how to take it;;

Gotta admit, I would kill to look like Taylor Swift.

I have blue eyes, and naturally curled looking hair, which were the biggest things I figured people related me to her. The rest of my features, not so much;;
Thanks though;;

I get told I look like Scarlet Johansson all the time. It happens enough that I definitely have to believe there's something to it. People don't mean my body, though, just my face. I do NOT have her curves.

The weird thing is, even though plenty of people say she's beautiful, I've never liked how she looks all that much. So I feel incredibly conflicted whenever someone tells me I look like her.

This made me realize that no one has ever told me I look like anyone famous... or even anyone not famous who isn't a relative. No "You look just like my friend from college" remarks. I guess I look like no one who isn't a blood relation.
