She had an attractive and relatively in-depth world that was appealing to people. That's why she was successful in spite of mediocre prose. You can look down on her actual writing all you want, but it might be better to try to appreciate what they did right and use it to better yourself.

124. Iris <3 She's one of my favorite PW characters out of the 4 games, which I suppose is silly, considering she only appears in one case. But I love her to death. (And you're absolutely right. She seems cuddly, doesn't she?)

Yes, there's all the talk about "fake fandom lesbians" and jokes about lesbians RPing yaoi, but really? It's not worth the headache. And trust me, haven't most queer folks done the whole "Oh! *giggles* Off topic, but this reminds me of the time a friend was raving to me about Hellsing, and she was like "omg, at first I didn't notice it at all, but the name Alucard is actually... Dracula spelled backwards! Isn't that incredibly clever?"
I cannot even remember when I first heard the name "Alucard", but it seems like ages ago. It's kind of part of pop culture, and there's not really any excuse, in my eyes, to spell it wrong.
