How often do you seek them out? what do you seek them out for?

I prefer not to have them. I was reading a wild article today about an author, bought his book within the first few paragraphs, and then read through the whole article only to learn that the article spoils the crux of the book. That was mildly annoying.

That said, supposedly a study done revealed that knowing spoilers ahead of time actually enhances a reader/watcher/viewer's enjoyment of media.

For movies, I tend to avoid them.

For TV shows, I will often look read ahead to see if characters I love/hate will die and when.

I will seek them out regularly if something is popular but I don't care about it? I have looked up aladin info because I am curious on how they plan to destroy my childhood (i know the story is problematic ect).

If it is something I am interested in I try to avoid spoilers and appreciate people noting them.

I don't generally seek them out (I think the only spoiler I actively sought out was the Hannibal ending), but I'm not ~ruined~ if I come across something either.

I love spoilers. I seek them all out. Doesn't ruin my enjoyment at all.

If I need to know something about the book or movie before committing to it, I seek them out. I avoid certain content for my peace of mind, and don't need to spend money and time on something I won't be able to finish or enjoy

Same. It's self-care for me.

I tend to like all the pre-release promotional stuff and fan speculation that comes out before a movie or a series. But once the thing is actually released, I tend to avoid spoilers.

OTOH, if I'm watching an older show for the first time, I'll often look up spoilers just to get a sense of where things are going. I find I'm more likely to enjoy where the series goes if I already have a vague idea of it in my mind.

Horror movies are one type of media where I'm all or nothing. There's nothing quite like going into a horror movie with absolutely no idea what you're about to watch. OTOH, if I don't want to get too scared, having it completely spoiled for me does the trick.

I'll often seek them out on something that would be a major time investment - games or TV shows - or where I'm worried about triggers. If I come across spoilers in the wild, though, I don't worry about it. I've been spoiled for so many things at this point, I'm just... I'm so far past caring. IDGAF.
A bigger problem for me is accidentally spoiling things for other people, because I can't tell what counts as a major spoiler most of the time.

If something looks like it might be triggery, I'll find the spoileriest reviews I can. Especially if I'm going to see a movie in the theater, both because that's 20+ bucks, and because nothing ruins a night out with friends like having a panic attack.
