I'm three episodes in and totally agree with this! But I'd expect nothing less :)

There was some excellent music here. I was happy to hear some Adam Ant! I wondered if the musical cues were in the comic at all?

The only (non-violin) music I can remember in the comic was the punk band Diego and Vanya had.

I loved that scene so much, but all of the music was on point to me. Especially during the fights and stuff. Even the peppy stuff just worked.

The music choices were really good tbh, I liked them all, and yeah this scene is pretty fantastic.

Agreed, all the music has been great in this and I love the fight scenes set to peppy music, LOL.

I only want to see this show for Diego's dancing tbh. I don't really give a shit about anything else, especially Quirky Sad White Boy Tumblrbait #200754.

Wait... who in this context is the "Quirky Sad White Boy Tumblrbait #200754"?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-24 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
.........

are they talking about Klaus

(Anonymous) 2019-02-25 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously Klaus.

Gotta be Klaus, right?

HDU.

This show is actually really good, but um, okay.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-25 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
What is it about the show's premise that you don't have an interest in? I'm just curious because it seems like such a blend of genres and 'types' to me, especially that it's very rooted in the family's dysfunctionality and the apocalypse is sort of a secondary/tertiary plot.

Quirky Sad White Boy Tumblrbait #200754

If you're talking about Klaus, that is such an impressively inaccurate description I actually snorted.

Or I guess you might be talking about Five? But he's not really quirky (except in the sense of being a little mentally addled), and he's awfully young (on the outside) to be considered tumblrbait.

I'm actually only so-so on this show. I'd probably give it a C+. But IMO citing Quirky Sad White Boy Tumblrbait as a reason not to be interested in the show doesn't make much sense, as the show doesn't really have any Quirky Sad White Boy Tumblrbait. The closest it has to that is Vanya, tbh.

How is he not? He's literally a quirky sad white boy. Him being bisexual doesn't negate that that is literally him.

quirky and sad sure, but that doesn't necessarily make him Tumblrbait #200754

It being created by the frontman for My Chemical Romance explains a lot, I feel, particularly the musical choices. (I saw the pilot and am not really that interested in the rest of it, but I did enjoy the score.)

The music in this show is so great and it all just works. The dance scene is my favorite, but I also loved the scene where Gerard and Ray’s cover of “Happy Together” played.

I loved this scene, especially Luther and Diego dancing, just like you! The show is fantastic, to boot.

I'm only so-so on the show, but I did love this scene. And most of the musical choices. The only one so far that I haven't overly liked is David Gray's "This Year's Love" at the end of episode 4. It's one of my favorite songs, and at first I was thrilled they used it, but then I just didn't feel that it fit with the overall tone of the show very well.
