Does anyone remember Fly Away Home? I wanted a pet goose so bad because of that movie.

I remember that movie! I liked it a lot.

I only ever saw bits & pieces of it on TV as a kid, but I remember it.

I saw it again recently and IMO it's actually pretty good. I mean, it's the kind of movie that's very of it's time. But it's surprisingly genuine and heartfelt and might actually be a deeper movie to adults than to kids.

Plus, that opening sequence has always stayed so vivid in my memory, and Mary Chapin Carpenter's version of Ten Thousand Miles will always be almost unbearably sad to me.

For some reason for every religious retreat our grade school sent us on they played this movie... (almost every other year type of deal;;)
I almost think that I could have liked it if it wasn't for this fact, but the years of tying to write religious parallels for a sing movie kinda ruined it for me;;
