The Academy Awards is the ceremony, the Oscar is the nickname for the little gold man you get. But people use them interchangeably.

I watched the last few awards. Olivia Coleman's acceptance speech was pretty funny.

I'm happy for Rami Malek, because I think he played a stellar Freddie Mercury, but... that movie won best editing? That movie that had so many jump cuts in scenes that it was honestly dizzying? I even thought that it was a decent (if biopic-typically divergent from real life) movie on the whole, just... come on, the editing was garbage.
