He has a brainwashed cult of followers he's been very carefully grooming for years, of course they're going to attack anyone they perceive as against him. While it certainly doesn't excuse them for the behavior, my honest first reaction for the Rangers is just pity. He used girls that needed to feel like they were a part of something. It's horrible.
