Not original soundtracks, but songs or covers that you thought were on point.

Well, I just finished The Umbrella Academy and it had some AMAZING song choices.

Supernatural also has some great ones.

Breaking Bad, Justified, and The Wire also had some really good music moments.

UA had me from the beginning with Phantom of the Opera music. They could have chosen nothing else I liked and I would have been cool with it just for having PotO.

Barber's "Adagio for Strings" in Platoon. It's a piece that guts me no matter what the context.

Magnolia + Aimee Mann's over of "One is the Loneliest Number".... WOW

I was just thinking about it the other day, in fact. About how disorienting that whole initial sequence is, and how the tension and dissonance builds to an almost unbearable point, and then BAM. That simple little piano riff kicks in, and you know from that point on that every single relationship in the film is doomed, and you're going to be off-kilter the whole film.

I love that the director basically just went to Aimee Mann and was like, "Can your music be the soundtrack to my film?" Mann has such a distinctive voice, and IMO it worked really well with the tone of the movie. It a good movie, but I don't think it would be nearly as memorable without her music.

I'll never not think it's funny how they put "I Will Survive" over the credits to "The Martian".

"Bates Motel" had some excellent musical choices throughout its run. "Be My Baby", "Crying", "Dream a Little Dream"...I can instantly picture the scenes connected with those songs when I hear them now.

The S2 finale of Buffy with Full Of Grace by Sarah McLachlan absolutely killed me. If I watched it for the first time now, it would probably seem horrible OTT and dated, but at the time, damn.

I thought Altered Carbon was meh except for covers of "God's Gonna Cut You Down" and "More Human than Human."
