I'm not a fan of mpreg and prefer het, but even I know that's not how it works. They're clearly enjoying the subversion of gender roles, among a myriad of other reasons that aren't muh misogyny.

Eh. I'm not saying *everyone* who writes mpreg routinely demonises canon female characters, while sticking with a weepy, OOC uke and rolling around in plots like miscarriage, or the joys of triplets, or going into intense detail of the blossoming, lush pregnancy-bod.

But they're by far the most common in my fandom.

I keep wondering where the skirt-phobia came from.

Honestly, it sounds like the people in your fandom are on the young side. What's the source material?

The Musketeers?

There was one really great mpreg series called Wolf Moon, which I would happily rec to anyone, anywhere.

The rest... all the writers, whether they're doing mpreg or not, demonise or simply erase all the canon women. Which makes their mpreg stories... weird. Honestly, I didn't make the secret, but I know *exactly* where OP is coming from.
