I think they already made the most interesting version of this story, and just trying to be contrarian and talking about how the cops were the good guys isn't enough to justify another take on it. I think that there's a pretty grim track record for retro-1930s-cop action movies over the last decade or so, especially one that stars two extremely middle-aged dudes in the lead role. And I think the trailer didn't look phenomenal.
