I'm surprised at how many people are invested in this topic honestly. Since the HP books are fantasy, I get a sense of disconnect when reading that makes me unable to connect Draco with this Eric Trump guy and pureblood bigotry with real life racism. Draco's just a fictional character, isn't he? Of course pureblood bigotry isn't good and led to a ton of suffering, but when I read a line where a character uses the slur Mudblood I don't feel a surge of visceral rage and I am not immediately reminded of a real life person saying or writing slurs like ching-chong or nigger.

Is it weird that I'm *not* invested like everyone else in fandom is?
