I was watching The Breakfast Club for the first time since I was a kid and... jesus. At one point, Judd Nelson's character suggests that they close the library doors and "impregnate the cheerleader". He doesn't come out and say "gang rape" specifically, but that's clearly what he meant. Throw in calling the geeky guy a "faggot" as well.

I always noticed the racism and sexism in John Hughes movies, but the homophobia really hit me on the rewatches. Some Kind of Wonderful used to be my favorite but now I can't stomach the plot with Watts being mistaken for a lesbian. I wouldn't mind if it were portrayed as just the bullies being dicks about it, but the main characters also act like it's the worst thing in the world that anyone would think she was gay.
