What movie did you see as a kid that you were too young for.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-12 01:22 am (UTC)(link)I think I also watched Phantasm around then, too, though I don't think I understood a lot of it, which probably made it worse. I can tell you the part in the bathroom at the end really stuck with me.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-12 01:33 am (UTC)(link)I don't consider anything in it terribly "strong" in terms of ratings, but it is definitely not a flick for young teens.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-12 02:12 am (UTC)(link)But the movie I personally think of myself as being "too young" for, the first time I saw it, is actually The Talented Mr. Ripley. And by "too young" I mean that I thought it was horribly boring and couldn't fathom why anyone would like it. Then I saw it in my twenties and it's been one of my absolute favorite movies ever since.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-12 06:41 am (UTC)(link)I remember being more embarrassed than traumatized when I watched 40 Year Old Virgin when I was twelve with my extended family... Other than that, I remember being around eight when my Nana brought me and my sister to see The Mummy in theatres. She must not have realised what the movie was about, since she had a fit once it started playing. She ended up dragging us out of the theatre and into a different, more 'child friendly' movie after about ten or twenty minutes. Good times.
Re: What movie did you see as a kid that you were too young for.
According to my parents I spent weeks ranting about "the feet" afterwards, something I've since wiped from my memory but from reading the book as a young adult I picture all too well what I meant at the time.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-14 01:08 am (UTC)(link)I also watched all of the Indiana Jones films at that age with my mom. Same for Star Wars. And even though they mostly weren't super violent (with the exception of Temple of Doom), they were still a little too much for most children at that age. But I love all of them and they never gave me nightmares, so. *shrug*
