There's a show that's reasonably popular that I want to watch because it sounds very much like my thing. But I found out one of the creators follows someone on Twitter who I hate and who sent death threats to a friend of mine, so I'm never going to watch the show. I'm sure the creator doesn't KNOW that about this particular person they follow, I'm sure the creator is a nice person, but I know I'll associate the show with This One Asshat now.

Seriously, though, yeah, I totally understand your stance. Best to just avoid getting drawn into that drama and mess altogether if possible.
