Re: Fanfic Writers! How would you feel if someone posted a comment to tell you about a typo?

I think your best bet would be to make at least one positive statement about the fic, and then mention the typo. I mean, I know you're being helpful, and why should you have to spend extra effort complimenting the person before you help them. And of course you don't have to do anything. But if you do make that extra effort, it will dramatically minimize the chances of the author being anything other than appreciative.
