I thought that it was so exciting that so many authors of the same ethnicity as me were getting published in English in genres I enjoyed reading.

Then I found out that a ton of them were wanky people flinging shit around on Twitter, putting their fellow authors down (also on Twitter) and putting out or retweeting performative rage filled tweets (which I already wasn't thrilled to come across in fandom particularly on tumblr), and as for the rest, even if an author didn't do any of these things they were friends with the people who did (both on and off Twitter).

I think I'll continue to give all these authors a miss.

I’m torn between wanting to know who these authors are and not wanting to know.
