This has been happening for months and is the only reason we have as many submissions is from comment!secrets. And what does “having no idea if it’s true” have to do for opinion based secrets anyway.

So you don't think it'd be stupid as fuck to get a stack of secrets going on about how terrible Harry Potter was for stabbing Scooby Doo to death with the Sword of Gryffindor and then teabagging the corpse? Because that's just someone's opinion? Really?

I wouldn't agree with it but... yeah? As long as there's somebody who actually said it?

I wouldn't have a problem with someone making and submitting that secret themselves, and I don't see what difference it makes if someone makes the post in a thread themselves and then someone else makes a secret based on it.

Then we might as well go back to old Tar Season Anon, because hey, it's content, right? I mean, there's no discussion to be had, because it has no connection to anything in any actual canon anywhere, but as long as someone is making posts about something...

Wait, what was the point of this community again?

But all of your problems with the secret would be exactly the same if the person who had made the original comment had made it as a secret instead of a comment

Nayrt but +1 and looks like there's plenty of discussion on this secret.

You think the person who made the original comment also had absolutely no idea why they held that opinion? You don't think very highly of them, do you?

Secrets don't have to generate discussion. They also don't have to fit with your arbitrary standards of how connected to canon it is. I note that none of your objections apply to THIS secret, which is very connected to canon and has generated discussion.

Wait, what was the point of your objection again?

Where is that example coming from, because it isn’t this secret? “X creator is a sex pervert” is completely in line with what people submit here, and it was a comment from a real person. And a real user could just as easily submit a nonsense secret about Harry Potter/Scooby Doi.

People have been making comment secrets for ages. Has this happened? What's the real impact of having a few silly secrets? Would it be a horrible disaster?

Or do you think that maybe your concerns have more to do with whatever anxieties you're working through than with reality?
