Though most are pretty damn skinny, they come in a variety of colors and facial types. Problem is a lot of people go for whatever is "popular" at the time or what they can buy at a convention for relatively cheap.

Also almost every time I see someone post something about bjds they use a picture of a shiro..... The doll in the image is a Shiro Tachibana from Volks. A doll which is rediculously popular I think purely because he looks so generic.

As for expressions, I suggest looking up some of the tinies that have faceplates or Unoa's. Most companies give them a frown or a neutral smile which I think is a bit repetitive but does make sense from a business and customization standpoint. If Tensiya wasn't down at the moment I'd like you to the tan IM Hound. He's looks really confused and slightly lost. XD
