I ended pretty much hating everyone to such a degree that I decided to ignore reality and live in my own made-up world. As far as I am concerned there was only one Avengers movie and then they went off to be a happy team and have adventures off-screen while the MCU focused exclusively on other characters.

I realized that the last time I had properly enjoyed anything to do with the Avengers was back when everything was team-as-family, they all live together in the tower, and I didn't want to slap some sense into each and everyone of them.

I sometimes really miss the days of "everyone lives in Avengers tower" fic with an occasional side order of "with a rehabilitated Loki" - though naturally that last one was often done quite badly because reforming a villain takes a lot of work. There was still some good stuff though.

I don't think I'll ever get back to how I felt about MCU fandom roughly around 2012-13. It just feels like I've cycled between feeling disappointed or having unrelenting misery thrown at me. It's why I will never give in to fan pressure to worship Infinity War and will unashamedly say the first Avengers is still my favourite of the Avengers film (even if it does suck a bit for character growth and has Whedon dialogue issues.)

There's a lot of 'happy families' fic out there, which i love.

I'm also tired of how relentlessly depressing the MCU had become. The original Avengers was so much fun!
These are superhero films not Shakespearean tragedies!
I also refuse to worship Infinity War.

Irony being the one part of the franchise that lent itself to being a bit Shakespeare got loads of "omg boring" complaining which led to the first two Thor films being almost completely trashed. I don't hate Ragnarok, I enjoyed it in fact, but I'll never not be bitter as a fan of the Thor films all along that previous canon was basically dismissed as not mattering.
