When I was a kid, I saw Bambi at the theater. It was, in fact, quite a while before I realized that it wasn't actually a 'new' movie (I mean, a while when I was a kid not like I didn't realize it until I was an adult)

So anyway...it's possible?

Old Disney films used to get regular cinema screenings during my childhood (80s/90s). First film I saw was Snow White. It was definitely a thing.

And I totally get where OP is coming from. I have special nostalgia for the Disney classics too.
