I disagree about the accurate portrayal. Dain is one of my favorite characters in the books, and I was SO disappointed in how cliche and awful he was in the movies.

I find it pretty easy to compartmentalize when it comes to these films and see them as a completely separate work from the books. The differences actually help, rather than hinder.
