Tell us about your April 1st!

I had a contract job setting up laptops and it was easy and went well. Got paid 18$/hr. Only downside is that they finished really early so I didn't get the entire 11-hour payment, but I'm glad I didn't have to fight traffic home.

It's my little brother's birthday, so i'll be calling him in a bit. Otherwise - work, and got the oil changed in my car.

it's payday so I ran a fuckton of errands and shopping. Two nice things I did were take myself to my favorite cafe for a cup of tea and a piece of cake and have a long conversation with a friend I hadn't seen in years. unfortunately I have to go to a weight loss class in about 10 minutes that I don't want to go to.

I went for a 3535-minute run this morning before it started raining again, it was a good run and I didn't phone it in. I came home and showered and dressed and ate lunch, then it was mani-pedi time. I picked an opaque nude polish for toes and a raspberry/fuchsia glitter for fingers, its absolutely stunning in sunlight. Watched baseball, smoked a bowl, listened to music. Getting ready to make dinner (chicken salad). I'll read a little later on (currently reading The Force Awakens novel). I'm off work for the next 3 days and intend to just chill the entire time.

Got depressed at Walmart. Lol. Everyone (myself included probably) looked really bummed out.

No one pranked me which yay.

Aka it was a normal day.

I am however getting really anxious about my vacation in July. I'm a dumb dumb so a friend and I have booked a vacation in freaking LONDON this year and now with all that Brexit chaos, I'm essentially quite anxious about some things. Like, will I need a passport or not? Those are like 60€ here, so I'd rather not spend that money unless I have to - especially since I don't really plan on going on vacation outside the EU, but they also take really look to get so I should maybe apply for one, soon. Guess I'll wait till April 12th. >___> (Watch me get one and then not needing it)

(Yes, I'm aware that my worries are peanuts compared to all the people whose whole life will be affected.)

As someone whose life is going to be affected, seriously go ahead and be pissed off. It's the worst, most mismanaged, bungled and IDIOTIC case of a government fucking up democracy that I can think of in recent history.

Also I would get a passport. Despite the fact that this is clearly no longer a democratic decision, the monsters in charge seem determined to drag us out of the EU into poverty and exploitative trade deals with countries like the US who wants to force their shitty shitty food on us. GAH. WHHHY. FUCK IT FUCK IT FUCK IT FUCK IT.

OP: I'm so sorry. I watch that one YouTube channel that posts update videos every day and it's a bad comedy show! If you told me that a badger came into the room yesterday, pissed on the speaker's table and thus triggered some ancient rule, I wouldn't even blink.

And yeah, I probably will get that otherwise useless and expensive passport (which also means taking pictures blergh).
British Airways already cancelled our flights and gave us later ones so our first and last day will be shorter than we wanted..

Thank you for the consolation, OP. One of the worst things about Brexit is the thought that people all over the world will think that this is what the British people want. That the small group of racist fuckheads that want this travesty has tarred us all with the same brush. Noone sane wants Brexit. I sure as hell don't, I love Europe and I'm proud to be a European. My heart is goddamn breaking and the future terrifies me.

That sucks about your flights. Did they not offer you compensation or anything? Bloody airlines.

I would hope not! I think at least online the 'remain' voices are really loud and I've read several news articles here that talk about the petition etc. but I do think it will only hit people outside the UK when it (finally) sadly happens.

It's only a few hours later, so I doubt they thought they'd need to compensate us. :/

I'm very much looking forward to the actual city itself! Just... the getting there is giving me grey hairs.

Got overtime at work. Feel depressed (not related to work)

Went to get groceries and ended up with groceries + a tortilla press. Hopefully gonna go do laundry in a bit, but right now my stomach (or something mostly to the left of my belly button, I’m shit at anatomy) really hurts, so I’m on the couch reading and drinking fizzy water. I’m not nauseous or anything, though.

I soldered some wires and got reversed pranked by two true news items (the announcement of the Impossible Whopper and Skrillex tunes being an effective mosquito repellent).
