If I see a 2nd person fic in the wild, my first reaction is "Aha, this author was once a Fellow Homestuck!"

If it's not tagged /reader, I won't associate it with /reader fic ever, tbh. Second person for a specific character is totally different in tone from the vagueness meant for reader insertion.

(But seriously, consider Homestuck. And The Broken Earth Trilogy, by NK Jemision, which is bleak but amazing, especially its use of second person.)
