das_mervin loved to spork fics one of my best friends at the time wrote. She even had a spork of me from a review I wrote defending her. I also got under her skin for writing an admittedly very stupid email complaining about the sporks.

People still sometimes mention das_mervin and other das_sporking people. It's das_awkward.

My dad was actually a vice president at a very well known international company, and left because the rat race was terrible. He saw a lot the people he used to work with in the Mad Men characters. So... there's that. Although ironically he now uses one of the company's products, which I find ironic.

Mostly, I just find it awkward to tell my left-leaning, anti-capitalism friends "oh yeah, my dad was a CEO."
