The Ikea cheese grater that lets you grate cheese into a tupperware container and then store the excess in the container you grated it into. I think it was like $5, and I honestly don't know how people get by without one at this point.

My ugly as fuck down coat that I got from Value Village for $11. I hate it because it is so very, very ugly. But it's really warm, and the number of times I've been on set (as a background extra) and had to throw it in some bushes between takes is...a lot, I have done that a lot of times. So it needed to be cheap, otherwise I wouldn't be able to treat it like crap the way I need to.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

Tomorrow morning, I am going to my town's local ribbon cutting ceremony for our geocache trail. Sunday, I WAS going to clean my yard (weed and mow), but it looks like it will rain. Hopefully it doesn't rain Saturday as well!

Tomorrow going to back to open a checking account and to set my credit card so I can use it overseas. Then I have to do laundry. My sister is in town, so will visit some with her. Other than that, just watching some Doctor Who and sleeping.

It's my parents' 40th anniversary and it was my brother's 37th birthday on the 3rd so we're all getting together for a family IKEA trip and then dinner~.

I bought my brother the Snoop Dogg cookbook and made him the Rolls Royce cookies out of it.

Well /todays/ plans went seriously down hill for me, since it was my father's birthday and all...
Err... lets just say, nothing went well. (It wasn't the worst, but lugging my mother to bed and pretending my father isn't crying as he blows out the candles isn't that good either... oh well)

I guess it's just a retry for tomorrow, and after that... my schedule's clear.

On the train to my local Star Trek-club now! I actually debated going because I've seen most of the episodes fairly recently and they're showing First Contact which I rented a few months ago, but there's pizza and coffee and good company. Plus, I've never seen FC on the big screen.

What was the transition from online to offline discussions like?

A friend just got one of those betta fish and has only a teensy plastic box for it. But it's okay because they live in small puddles in the wild! (No, they don't.) And he's happy, she can tell because he's blowing bubbles!

Ugh. Trying to politely reason with her isn't working. She has this way of being all "oh youuuuuu" when she doesn't want to hear something. I'd like to ask her how she'd feel if she had to live her whole life in a room the size of her dorm room because hey, college students live like that in the wild, etc. etc.
