Or!! Or. "Bad chick flicks" is a shorthand for the fact that 98% of female-character-driven media is romance-focused, which is incredibly alienating and furthers the idea that women are only as good as who they can get to bang them?

I'm a lesbian, and I even have trouble with lesbian-focused media because it's still just romance. Can't I just... please... for once... have a woman have a story that is 100% her own? Male characters get adventures and friendship and drama without necessarily getting involved in romantic tangles as well. Why can't women?
