The Situation

(Anonymous) 2019-04-10 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
So, all I can find of this currently is that the user's name is 'Tox' or 'Tox the Dragon' and he was banned for 'posing a threat to minors.' One post claims he linked to actual porn (didn't say what kind of porn) on the site which, yeah, he deserves a ban for that if it's true. There wasn't a source on that, though.

Other than that he liked lolicon and shotacon apparently? I can't find anything about particular characters and such, mostly just anti's insisting as usual that CP is CP whether drawn or not. I wasn't able find any non-anti opinions easily at this time and again, I didn't see any sources or proof of the claims, just a lot of hearsay.

It's absolutely appalling that we're at the point where we now doubt claims about pedophilia on the internet and have to investigate it because of all the crying wolf that's gone on about it. Thanks, Antis!

I really wish OP would provide more insight on this from their perspective.

So it's just a bunch of he said, she said bullshit...? Why am I not surprised.
I agree with you about the crying wolf makes everything worse, since I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt if only because of just that.

(thanks for the info anon!)

Yeah, exactly. I was going to write more about what certain people were saying about it, but realized that none of it had any sources. The only exception was a screencap of him saying he was banned for 'posing a threat to minors' in a discord chat.

I'm in the same boat as you, this guy is getting the benefit of the doubt from me because of how anti's have been reacting in fandom to everything from ships involving high school
anime characters, to age gaps between consenting adults. They are creating a culture of doubt for something as severe as pedophila. It's not good.

I can't tell if Tox's situation is or isn't, but I should note that mentions of 'l o l i c o n' and 's h o t a' aren't really legit. One of the Steven Universe staff (former now, I believe he went to work off on other projects) was accused of being a p e d o because of pictures in his likes and one he drew.

The pictures were:
Lapis, in an artistic shot. You can kind of see her underwear. Lapis is an adult gem and like over 5 thousand years old. The picture is not porn or even particularly sexual.
A Jasper and Lapis picture. Jasper appears to be trans in it. It's fully clothed kink. It'd probably pass PG-13, honestly.
Some kind of anime with humanized boats as teenage girls? The pic was legit not sexualized.
I think there might've been a beach scene with anime girls? But I remember it being really non sexualized and just cute.
Drawing a picture of Bulma in a canon costume and pose. He did every hair style she did, and one part of the canon anime had a dancing scene.

(In my opinion, anyways) Ian was specifically targeted because:
1) he called out antis when they targeted Zamii with so much bullying that she attempted suicide. He actually had to delete the tweet because people were using it to try and get a 'gotcha' as in 'SO YOU SUPPORT ped//oph//ila????"
2) he's dating Rebecca Sugar, thus ruining their 'lesbian headcanons' about her. (Yes, this was a thing. Cringeworthy.)
3) honestly I would not be surprised if racism played a key. Some of these antis pretend to be fake-woke but act really weird about real black people.

So yeah. Read every callout because people are blaming people for 'p e d o p h i l a' when both parties are adults, and often in an adult-oriented show.

THIS THIS THIS THIS

The major effect purity wankers and antis have had on me is that since the last few years in fandom, I don't take accusations of pedophilia seriously anymore. I used to, but 97.5% of the time nowadays, it's just somebody who draws the "wrong" set of characters kissing.

I know this jadedness is very very common now, and that means it's harder for the real thing to get called out in a meaningful way, which means it's easier for those few people in fandom who really are a real danger to children to slip under the radar. Hell, some of them win the trust of young people by claiming to be a "safe" adult who will protect them from the nasty shippers!

I have talked to Tox is he is absolutely against irl pedophilia and always has been. People got in a tiff because of OCs he and his fiance have that are both underaged or something and they do sexual stuff. To me, since both are consenting adults irl and it's just OCs, that's not pedophilia, but if I were to say that on FR, I'd be slandered to death.
