This is a rather confusing secret.

On a subject with millions of personal accounts you aren't privy to, you have no personal frame of reference.

How did you arrive at this conclusion?

OP

1) a documentary about men's relationship with their penis that I saw about twenty years ago where some guys talked about how important it is for their masculinity to dominate their women during sex

2) reading Savage Love

3) looking at what's popular in porn (choking, gagging etc)

4) various evo-psych bloggers over the years

NAYRT but you realize that's a VERY limited sample set, don't you?

da

1) you realize that was mostly likely a documentary about 'little man syndrome', when guys small in stature or size try to overcompensate by being 'overtly manly' aka a complete asshole.

2) not that I know what this is, but... 'Savage Love'? what were you expecting with a title like that?

3) just because that's what you're into doesn't mean there isn't plenty of female friendly porn out there too. Plus porn is a way to fantasize, not a realist way to base people's motives on.

4) I'm guessing these 'evo-psych' bloggers are a bunch of incels. At least from my experience people talking about this type of content while trying to back it up like they know what they're talking about, tend to be just that.

So in short, a whole lot of assumption based on a handful of meaningless sources, zero personal experience and nothing much else.

Hey so I just wanted to say as a fellow Savage Love reader - not a good sample size. People writing in to Savage Love are having problems with their sex lives, so of course there are going to be a lot of jerks represented in those letters. Also porn, like fanfic, is not realistic.
