Re: Fandom worries

On the one hand, when I first started in internet fandom in the late 90s, I met a lot of people who had been in fandom since at least the early days of internet fandom, if not well before that. They had adapted to new fandom platforms and were enjoying themselves fine.

On the other hand, moving from offline to online, or moving from one social media platform to another is not a problem if you can still find active fannish spaces that are doing the kinds of things you like, e.g. having a lot of meta discussions or something. If those spaces don't exist, whether the preferred platforms are not conducive to that or the participants don't want to do that, then fandom is kind of over for me, too.
